Teaching Philosophy

I am very passionate about students using new technologies and software in furthering their own creativity and academic development. I do feel it is very important to give students the opportunity to develop key skills, through different planned sessions and for them to use their own interests as subject themes for projects. I currently use Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, Lightroom, After Effects and IMovie. I am hardworking, enthusiastic, confident in subject delivery and organised to commit to ensuring positive student achievement. Part of my teaching philosophy is to create a clear, ambitious academic learning environment is central to my role. I am able to work with alone with confidence or within a team to promote my subject or course.

Living Environment - Photo Collage Workshop

This project was designed for students to develop their photographic skills using camera techniques. I took the students to Liverpool to create their own versions of David Hockney photo-collages. This task also gave the students an opportunity to see the Living Environment of Liverpool in a different way, and to capture it in a creative way.

'Bleeding Street Lamp'-2016

I taught a street photography workshop, for my Level 2 Creative Digital Media Production students. This workshop took place in Liverpool, as I wanted the students to have the opportunity to experiment with street photography techniques. The students had to shoot in black and white, while switching between Aperture and Shutter Priority settings.

Portrait photo-shoot

I use imaginative themes for many of my sessions and this one above was one of my favourites. I was teaching media and games students about portraits, using something I knew the students would enjoy was around gangster / mafia theme. Students really embraced the challenge and using photographic portrait techniques they were able to create visually interesting pieces.
